SWT Design is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with 5-10 years of professional experience in civil engineering. The ideal candidate should be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Missouri (or able to obtain within 6 months if registered in another state). The Project Engineer will play a key role in planning, designing, implementing, and directing civil engineering projects as part of a project design team.
General Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Plan and coordinate most aspects of the engineering work.
Plan and coordinate various aspects of engineering work.
Prepare comprehensive project documents.
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and other relevant data.
Research, understand, and apply City, State, regional, and Federal codes.
Ensure adherence to project budgets and issue change notices as needed.
Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Interact with clients, officials, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Manage project implementation, ensuring completion as planned and scheduled.
Perform Quality Control Reviews of plans and reports.
Promote the company's reputation through technical quality of work.
Represent the company professionally at project-related meetings and events.
Coordinate with lead engineer to evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques and procedures.
Responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and directing civil engineering projects.
Manages project budgets and profitability.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
MO Professional Engineer’s License.
5-10 years of experience in site civil engineering.
Fluency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; knowledge of Hydrologic/Hydraulic design software is a plus.
Working Relationships
Reports to and receives guidance from the Lead Civil Engineer.
May coordinate with other SWT Design staff, including Studio Project Managers and Partners.
Mentors entry-level civil engineering staff and interns.

Market & Project Experience
Market: Site civil experience in diverse land development sectors, both public and private.
Project: Site plan design and development, including accessibility, grading, drainage, SWPPP, site layout, etc. Experience with environmentally sensitive projects is a plus.
