The May 2011 EF-5 tornado that ripped through southwestern Missouri left the City of Joplin in ruin.¬†With recovery efforts still taking place now four years later, an opportunity arose to develop a portion of the original St. John’s Mercy Hospital site with the vision to heal the city. The establishment of a passive public park will expand the green space currently being offered by Cunningham Park, and provide connectivity to existing facilities, businesses, and nearby amenities.
