Rich in Scottish heritage, Dalhousie is a remarkably beautiful 1,000 acre golf club and residential community located in Cape Girardeau, MO. Designed by Gary Nicklaus of Nicklaus Design, the course was listed as Golf Digest’s #1 ranked course in Missouri for four consecutive years, from 2007-2010.

SWT Design was commissioned to carry on this bold character in the landscape adjacent to the golf manor and its entrances. The SWT team’s goal was to further enhance the successful branding and identity of Dalhousie. Working closely with the client, SWT Design created multi-purpose spaces that not only serve the technical requirements of the game but also the special events that are associated with a golf club of this stature. SWT Design’s efforts included the careful integration of vehicular and pedestrian circulation adjacent to the manor, plantings, a swimming pool, terraces, golf cart courtyard, trout stream, dining patios, front entrance, exterior lighting, and service. The design focused on enhancing the visitor experience and on beautifying the area for both guests to enjoy outdoor activities within the community.
