Located in the rolling hills of central Virginia among historic civil war battlefields and picturesque vineyards, Shenandoah Crossing Resort offers guests endless options to spend their vacation time in “rugged” luxury. Comprised of more than 1,000 acres with a lake for boating and fishing, trails for hiking and horse back riding, and pools and hot tubs for relaxing, the resort offers vacationers many exciting activities.

SWT Design was involved early in the design process to create Shenandoah’s unique environment. One of the design team’s main goals was to preserve the forest setting of the secluded retreat through careful site planning. The team strategically placed the lodging options, ranging from deluxe town homes and grand cabins to the more rustic, tent-like yurts, so as to limit site disturbance.

SWT Design envisioned a rustic elegant experience surrounded by rolling hills and native vegetation. Key to this vision are the resort’s amenities, which include an activities pool, hot tubs, and a sprayground surrounded by a sunbathing deck, customized adventure playground, horseshoe pits, and a life-size chess board. The RV park itself reflects luxury as each camp site features a stone patio, privacy screens, fire ring, an outdoor kitchen, beautiful landscaping, and a hot tub.

Through all design phases and construction, SWT Design’s attention to detail and commitment to quality ensured the project’s success, creating a one-of-a-kind vacation experience nestled in this rustic landscape.
